This lively but unlikely tale of bungled kidnaps and narrow squeaks is, as its certificate suggests, a family thriller. Rather burled in the credits is Richard Roundtree Seven, Shaft, as the crusty but benign FBI agent, while Joe Lando who co-stars in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and Cristi Conaway who was in Batman Returns and Husbands and Wives. Althought it is a support title, CIC is including it in the One to Watch print advertising Campaign.

Roberta and Lucas Dempsey (Mary Page Keller and Lando) are a poor but honest married couple living in the deep south and minding their own business when Roberta's low-life sister Carrie (Conaway) and her sleasebag husband Carl , Dale Midkiff, Pet Semertary, arrive back in their lives. Before they know it, they are implicated in the kidnap and ransoming of the local benefactor's little son John Wesley. Outwitting their thicko relatives, they attempt to return the boy to the police, but discover the kid would rather stay with them because his father beats him black and blue. The Dempsey's are now on the run with a bent private eye, the crooked in-laws and the FBI led by Richard Roundtree in hot pursuit. More complications crop up when John Wesley's mom turns out to be a bill-topping stripper at the local lap dancing dive.
