LyndaB, Mechanicsville, Maryland: I know you get asked this alot, but I have to ask!  Are there any
plans to doanother Dr. Quinn Special?  Thank you

JOE LANDO: I really, truly doubt it.  We would all be happy to do one, but I don't think they
    will do it.

AugustovaL, Czech Republic: How is Buddy? It is an interesting idea-to buy a snake as a pet for kids.
Evelyn, Germany: How is Buddy? Everyone talks about Joe, no one ask about Buddy!!!
Lando-Kids, it would be fun if we could see a new film about your snake and how Buddy had grown up.

JOE LANDO:  Buddy is in perfect health.  Probably the best cared-for reptile around.
A great pet, not a lot of care, very docile.  You got to have the right type of personality
to enjoy snakes but my kids love them and that's great.  They take him out all the time.
He is close to about four feet long,

NancyS, Plymouth, Indiana:  How did they do all the water and flooding scenes on Killer Flood?
It looked for real on a lot of the takes.  On Silent Killer, how did they do the fire and explosion
scenes? Were you ever in any danger during the filming of these two movies?

JOE LANDO:  Most of the sets for Killer Flood
were built in a giant hole in the ground
and lined.   Right next door to that was the public pool they were going to close for
the winter.  They drained all the water from the pool into the set. Sometimes the water
had to be eight feet, sometimes a couple of  inches and that made all the sets fall apart
at the end of the movie. It was a mess but it was an interesting cost-effective way to do it.

On Combustion, all the explosion scenes were CGI'd.  I never came near the flames.

HelenPT, Portugal: Hello Joe. Nice to be able to talk to you in this way. It's a great honor to me.
I admire very much your work and your commitment to the characters that you embrace in your life
as an actor.   It's very good to know that you still work, but if you could produce a series, in what genre
could it be? Action?  Western?

JOE LANDO:  First of all, thank you, it's a pleasure speaking with you.  I would love to
be able to be in a really good action drama, like a 24
.  I think I'd really enjoy that

LindaR: I have been a fan of DQMW and Sully from the day it was first aired. I am so glad to see that
your marriage to Kirsten has survived for so long, it is so refreshing to see this amongst the other short
marriages in your line of business. What is the secret of you and Kirsten's happy marriage?

JOE LANDO:  Well, we just celebrated our tenth anniversary and we have known each
other close to 18 years.  First we were friends, then fell in love, and spent a lot of time
with each other.   There were no surprises.   We knew what we wanted in love and in life.
We both had almost exactly the same wants and desires for our lives; it was a perfect fit.

Lynda, Indiana:  When you started playing Sully, you said you stopped cutting your hair and
quit shaving.  I have always wondered if you ever colored or highlighted your hair while you
portrayed Sully?  Either way, you are very handsome with short or long hair.  Thank you for your time.

JOE LANDO: When I would grow my beard out, we would dye it one color.   It was blonde
and red and not quite grey yet.  It was many different colors.  My hair would be bleached
out from being in the sun and swimming.  I also had a lemon tree in my yard and I would squeeze
lemon into it and that would give me my blonde hair.

Kellie, Australia: Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash were regular guests on Dr. Quinn.  Were you
friends outside the show? Did you ever go and visit them at their home in Tennessee, which sadly
just burnt down last week?  They look like they were great people.  Thanks.

JOE LANDO:  The Cashes were great people and we were friends outside of work.  We always
got together with them when they were in town for concerts.  I never went to their house in
Tennessee, but I know Jane and James visited them their several times.

Karen, Colorado: Hi Joe! I'm most familiar with your work in the role of Sully, and have enjoyed the series
on DVD. My question is, do you have any desire to play the role of a"real life" person in a biographical film?
If so, who would you like to play?

JOE LANDO:  Steve McQueen, that would be an interesting one.

Nadege, France: Are you really good friend with Jane Seymour?

JOE LANDO:  Yes, very much so.  Her family and mine get along great. It's always nice spending
time with them.

Penni, NC:  Hello Joe. It has been awhile in between seeing you on our television screens. I am curious
to what your intentions are towards acting these days?  Are you wanting to be more behind the scenes,
like directing or writing? We all miss you terribly. I hope to see you in something new soon. Good luck
in whatever your desire is.

JOE LANDO:  Actually, I've just kind of taken a hiatus from work, haven't really felt like being
away from the family, although I do hope to work again sometime soon.  It's something that kind
of comes and goes.  And the creativity part of it comes out in a different direction and I get distracted
and do that for a while.  But I've definitely been thinking of acting more these days.

Beatrice, France: I saw recently"Engaged to Kill" that is finally seen on the French channel.  You are
formidable in this role.  Was it difficult to play Robert Lord? How do you summon to get angry during
a role, not easy?

JOE LANDO:  I just put myself in the character's situation, try to feel exactly the way
I would feel if someone had done something to a member of my family.  I can also
knock it off very quickly, joking around before and after a serious scene takes place.

Kerri, Memphis: Will Higher Ground be put on DVD and if so, when? I loved the series and would
love to see it again.

JOE LANDO:  I had heard that it would be out a while ago.  I am also disappointed it isn't out
yet either. It deserves to be seen by a new audience now.

Ann S, Forest of Dean, U.K.: The most enjoyable time I had riding bareback was when we (my horse
and me) rode along the beach and went swimming in the sea. Have you ever been swimming on a horse?

JOE LANDO: No, I've never even ridden down the beach on a horse but it is one of my wife's
dreams, to go galloping down the beach on a horse.

Marica, Spain: Hi Joe, what do you think about" Reality shows"?

JOE LANDO:  Hey, I love some of them.  Dancing with the Stars I'm addicted to.  I watch
America's Next Top
Mode
l.  I like seeing these bratty women complaining about having to get up early.

JackieW, Monroe, WI: You are my favorite actor-you can brighten up any day! I have two sons and
a daughter the same age difference as yours. I was wondering what you do as a family for fun.  Also,
I was wondering if you have any special things planned for the summer. Thanks for responding-you
are awesome!!!

JOE LANDO:  Thank you very much.  I plan on taking some kind of road trip with the family,
as we always do.  We just can't lock down a location just yet.

Annie, France: There was a great chemistry between Jane and you.  Why is it so difficult for you to
find a project that you could make together?

JOE LANDO:  We haven't really actively been looking.

Christine, France: I have seen there is a lot of snow this year in your US mountains.  Do you sometimes
take your family skiing and playing in the snow?  It could be fun for them rather being used to the sun
and the beaches you have in California.

JOE LANDO:  Yes.  Colorado is one of my favorite places to take my family.  Spring
skiing in Aspen is the best.

RobR, Silver Spring, Maryland: I was just wondering if you still smoke?  I've been trying to quit
for years and it's pretty tough!

JOE LANDO: I never was a real professional smoker and I would never want my kids to see
me smoking, so for that reason alone I don't; it's easy.

Marie, Germany: dear mr. lando, as often as I hear of American and other celebrities, most of the news
are
bad ones. Which means that it seems that many of these famous people don't know how to behave, they
often seem to have the attitude "everything is possible because"I'm rich and famous."  Most of them
obviously don't care about the image their behaviour creates. And I feel that most of them lose contact
with the "normal world." In my opinion, they are not reliable or trustworthy. YOU SEEM TO BE
SO
DIFFERENT!!! I would like to congratulate you on your way of combining living and working.
I think you are doing a real great job: Working but not filling the gossip columns in the papers at all.
How do you do that? Is it difficult to combine this profession with family life? Does it sometimes force
down job offers because they don't match with your private plans?

JOE LANDO:  I'm very lucky that things turned out in my personal life and professional life
pretty close to the way I planned it.  Some things have gone wrong but, for the most part, I have
been pretty blessed.  And my attitude towards work, if it comes it comes and, if it doesn't, there
are more important things in my life.  When I was younger, my career was the most important
thing, now that‘s all changed.

Tia, Norfolk, Virginia: I bet that over the years you have made many friends with the various casts.
Of all the people you have worked with, who has been your friend the longest?

JOE LANDO:  Brian Tarantina.  I've known him since 1990.  Brian, he's often my houseguest
when he comes out here from New York.  I've known Jane a long time now.  It's hard to believe
it's been 14 years.  Brian and Jane I've known the longest. Danny Bonaduce, but I've never
worked with him.

Melia, USA:
Mr. Joe...Hi! Thank you so much for taking time for questions. You are my favorite actor
so this is awesome:). You are also very handsome. My question is, what was your favorite episode of
"Higher Ground" to film? (Not to sway you but I personally enjoyed the scene where you had to sing
"YMCA", LOL!) Thanks so much for answering. All the best to you.

JOE LANDO:  YMCA wasn't my favorite, but Innocence, when my father crosses over the bridge,
it breaks my heart every time, with the little boy who looks exactly like my son.

Masha, Tehran-Iran:  Hi Joe, well I have got somehow a strange question.  I wanted to know, are there
any native Americans left in the American continent that would live like the way they did in the past
(like the Cheyenne in Dr. Quinn), or even have the kind that lives like the Cheyenne had?  I would really
love to visit them when I came to America. Thanks Joe.

JOE LANDO:  I would have to say their beliefs remain pretty much the same, although their
living quarters on reservations and off are much different.

Desy, Italy: Hi. I am Desiree from Italy. I'd like to ask you two questions (and sorry for my bad english!):
1) If you could change something of your life so far, what would you change and why?
2) Is there anything you'd like to do in your life and you haven't done yet?  Thanks.  And
even if you decide not to answer them, thanks to be such a good actor.

JOE LANDO: Thank you, I wish I were taller.  I was supposed to be 6'2" but it didn't
happen for me.  I'm still working on the list.   I'll let you know if I don't get them all
done 40 years from now.  I wanted to be Hugh Hefner for five days during April of
1979, or any five days.

Selena, France: I am fond of Egyptology and except my job it is my only passion.  Do you have
yourself one passion?

JOE LANDO:  My children.  I spend most of my time thinking how to be a better father.
That's the big one right now.

Donna H,
Tennessee: First, I would like to say my kids and I greatly enjoyed your characters
on both HG and DQ. They actually looked forward to every episode. As a parent, I felt blessed
to have been able to let my kids experience the lessons they taught, but I was especially blessed
by HG.  We were greatly saddened when it didn't come back on. How was it playing at that deeply
of an emotional level with so many kids and Anne Marie Loder? Did it make you all that much of
a close-knit family? Do you stay in touch? Thank you so much for helping create such positive
television for our kids. I'm only sorry we don't get to see more of you.

JOE LANDO:  We don't stay in touch as much as we would like, but I could safely say
it was a special time in our lives and there's not a person involved in that show that isn't
proud of it.

Therese,
New Orleans, Louisiana: How did you get your first acting job?  Did you prepare
for your career with acting lessons?  I think this information would be helpful to young people
who would like to become actors.  Thank you for sharing so much of yourself through your acting
and this website.

JOE LANDO:  I studied acting for several years in the Vincent Chase workshop before
I even went out on my first audition.

Heather, Wisconsin: Hey Joe! I am a 20 yr. old soldier, recently in Iraq, gettin' my taste of
worldwide culture and seein' other countries... I've realized a lot about myself in my 15-month
deployment and I have gone to understand, expand my wisdom, and respect more of the cultures
and
the people who live in this world... Other languages are always fun to learn... My question for you is,
what culture/country in this world has intrigued you the most in life? Take care back home and God Bless!

JOE LANDO: The Greeks and the Romans, that period in time seems very interesting,
the architecture, the debauchery, et cetera, et cetera. Stay safe where you are.  God bless
you and thank you very much for the great sacrifice you are making.

Kellie, Australia: Hi Joe! I've been recently watching Breaking Bonaduce.  How did you and
Danny become friends?  I know you are close with him.  I think you and him should star in a
movie together.... hope will see you soon on TV.  Thanks

JOE LANDO: I've known Danny since 1980.  Met him through my first girlfriend here.
He's godfather to one of my children.  He and his wife are godparents.  I doubt that Danny
and I would ever star in a movie together.

More to come.....!
