Tiffany, Valley View, Pa: Sully is the guy that every woman on the planet could see themselves being loved by. He's gorgeous, was beautiful physically and spiritually, and when he loves he loves with his whole being. What are your passions in life aside from acting?

JOE LANDO: My family. Used to be my career, used to be Dr. Quinn, but now it’s bigger than that and I enjoy what I do now. Being able to act and have a family is a perfect combination.

Anna, France: Will you ever do new movies with Jane? That’s so bizarre to write to you. I look at Dr. Quinn medicine woman since I’m 6. My mother is a doctor so I recognize myself sometimes in this movie (just when I was little!!) see you soon

Kimberly, NC: I am a huge fan of yours. I love your acting style. My question is would you and Jane do another TV series together? It would be wonderful if you two could sit down together and develop another show. Your fans miss seeing you two together. Thanks.

Paule M, Province of Quebec, Quebec City: Recently, I’ve bought the box of DVDS of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. I don’t know on which planet I was when it was originally on TV, but I watched it from time to time.

But now, I really fell in love with this program. Most of all, I really enjoy the way you play your character. The way “Sully” is energetic, physical, charismatic, wild and at the same time so sweet. Anyway, I would like to know if there would be another movie or special reunion that will take place in a near future. Would you be interested or maybe you are in another place in your career. Sometimes, we are glad about the things we have done in the past, but we moved to other things and the past is the past.

Alessandra R, Switzerland: Just wanted to say how much I look forward to watching Dr. Quinn here in Switzerland. I find the stories to be captivating and everyone’s acting talents exceptional. It’s as if for one hour, I am part of this town living life in the West.

I especially like the episodes about the love story between you and Michaela. Your efforts towards her in Boston and your declaration at the railway station before leaving were breathless.. You have such talent. Is there any possibility for a comeback series in the near future with the same cast?

Rebekah, Northern Ireland: Is there any possibly that there would be another episode at least? I just love Dr. Quinn...one of the most amazing and inspirational films ever made.... Even though I'm only 15... I just love it!

Teresa L, Napa, CA: When u ever make another Dr. Quinn movie...

Patricia, Napa, CA: Hi Joe I love Dr. Quinn. I’m still watching the series its back on again on the gospel channel. My question is do you ever think that they might bring Dr. Quinn back maybe as a movie, that would be great if they did.

Marina K, Sweden: I wonder if you are going to do any more episodes of Dr. Quinn?

Pam, Texas: Will there be another Medicine Woman television movie? Any chance the show could come back. It is missed!

Julie, Colorado: I recently saw the episode of Dr. Quinn in Season 3 where your character and Jane’s character were married. I enjoyed the commentary that the 2 of you gave about the wedding episode. Any talk about a cast reunion?

JOE LANDO: I thought I would group all the questions about another Dr. Quinn and working with Jane together. Yes, I think I speak for Jane and myself when I say we would love the opportunity to work together again and are always looking. We have a chance to do something with Dear Prudence, the show she had on Hallmark, and we are waiting to hear back about that. First it was off and now it appears to be back on again.

It will also be great to revisit the Dr. Quinn characters all these years later. I think most of the cast would love to come back and do another movie but I don’t think CBS would be interested in putting it on at this point.

Carol C, Maine: Your work on the Dr. Quinn series was strong, and you brought a great deal to the character. My question is regarding Sully’s initial discomfort around horses. Was that just the character’s fear or did you also feel uncomfortable? The chestnut you rode seemed to have a natural “saddle,” but you rode well. Had there been no mention of it in the script, I would have thought you were comfortable on a horse. Did your acting talents come into play? Anyway, I don’t follow the gossip type info, but if this site is accurate, it seems as though you are a happy family man. I wish you well. You brought much to a fine family friendly show. Thank you.

JOE LANDO: I thank you for enjoying the show and your kind words. I have no fear of horses. I don’t necessarily love horses but I learned to ride bareback for DQ specifically. My contact with horses has been limited but I’ve never had the fear my character had of horses; I’ve really had no history with horses.

Meghan H, PA: I have rediscovered my favorite childhood TV show, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. Can you really throw a hatchet like that?

JOE LANDO: I used to be able to throw a tomahawk better than 9 out of 10 guys, but I haven’t tried it lately.

Kristen M Chicago, IL: First of all, and I’m sure you've heard this a million times, you are a phenomenal actor; Sully being my favorite part. You've ruined all other men for me! If they aren't like Sully, they aren't worth it! :) I was wondering if you really had to learn to speak Cheyenne for Dr. Quinn, and did you work with a real wolf? Keep up the great work, best wishes to you and your family!

JOE LANDO: I really had to speak Cheyenne. I remember most of the lines. I had to learn them phonetically from tape recordings. I worked with a lady named Eva, a Cheyenne coach. It was very difficult to learn.

The wolf that I worked with was part dog, mostly wolf, wonderful animal. Cody was his name and I really enjoyed working with him the four seasons before he retired. That dog smiled in the mornings when he saw me. The corners of his mouth just turned up and not many dogs could do that.

Mary Beth W, Walled Lake, MI: What are your feelings about the cancellation of Guiding Light by CBS? I sure miss seeing you.. Thank you!

JOE LANDO: I really enjoyed myself when I worked on Guiding Light. It was one summer when I was on hiatus from Dr. Quinn and I loved working with the actors, they treated me really well, and the producer, Jill Phelps, was wonderful to me. I am very sad that the show has gone down. It supplied a livelihood for a large group of people but it is the sign of the times and it’s sad.

Julie H, England: Did you have a good friendship with Larry Sellers (Cloud Dancing) off screen and if so are you still friends?

JOE LANDO: I really, really, really like Larry Sellers. He would always be the person I went to if I had questions about my character and his relationship with the Cheyenne. I enjoyed his company on and off the set and we would always laugh really hard about certain things that were inside jokes to just Larry and me. We had a great time working together. We lost contact a few years back but I am sure he is doing well.

Polly R, H, England: Joe, I am a great fan of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman (DQMW), I am fascinated by the history of Native American Indians, and their culture. During the many years you spent on DQMW you must have picked up all sorts of knowledge about the Cheyenne and outdoor skills like medicinal plants. Do you ever use this knowledge or skills?
    Thanks

JOE LANDO: I was able to retain a small bit of it, a lot of the practical stuff I use when I’m hiking, certain plants to stay away from, certain plants I can’t ingest. I wouldn’t call myself a survivalist but fortunately I learned and retained knowledge from the Native American people I hung with on the set.

Jane C, USA: When you were acting on Dr. Quinn, was that your own hair?

Arthur, Poland: Joe, where are your long hair? Why you cut hair?

JOE LANDO: Big answer to all the hair questions, yes, it was my hair. I cut my hair when the show ended and I still have it in a brown paper bag in the closet of my office. There it stays in case we ever decided to clone me for the DQ reunion.

Linda CC, London: I am not sure if I am contacting you for real; it feels a little weird (you know...a mix of excitement, hope with a drop of anxiety).
I am Linda, 27 years old and I live now in London but I come from Belgium...

Two days ago I couldn't fall asleep and suddenly I remembered the episodes of Dr. Quinn...I immediately turned on my computer and checked if I could watch one of the episodes online...I went to sleep around 2:30 AM that night and when I did I felt great. I want to buy all the seasons in DVD :-)

I would like to congratulate you for being SUCH A GOOD ACTOR, that is truly impressive, every expression of your face, you body language, the tone of your voice...everything is just perfect every time in every scene...Can I thank you for your performance?! Dr. Quinn episodes will always be a great souvenir from my childhood :-)

This form is to ask questions...I don’t have too many but one burned me the whole time I watched you when I was a child. I hope you will not be offended by it: Can you tell me how much of you is similar to the character Byron Sully you played in Dr. Quinn? Of course all fans wish to think you are Byron Sully but I would love to know a little more about you in real life :-)

    Thank you so much Joe,
I truly hope to read you soon.

JOE LANDO: I have to say back when I played Sully I was more like him than I am now but we
do still share a lot of the same values. There used to be a lot of Joe in Sully and now there is a lot of Sully in Joe.

Shila, Dubai & Iran: Hi Joe, I hope everything is going fine, and would like to ask you if one of your fans wants to talk to you is that a sin or mistake? Thanks

JOE LANDO: Shila, I try to remain as professional as I can. I don’t want to offend my fans or the people who appreciate what I do for a living but I do keep my personal life as private and separate as I can from my job. That is just the way I choose to live my life and I communicate with my fans through this web site, using Judy as my conduit.

I have to cut this session short but I will try and get back to the questions that I still have to answer in a few weeks.
