Joe Lando was born on December 9, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois. The youngest of two children, Joe grew up in Prairie View, Illinois and attended Adlai E. Joe moved to LA when he was 18 and worked as a chef before his first big acting break came in 1990 when he was cast as Jake Harrison on One Life To Live. That job led to his most famous role to date as Byron Sully, the enigmatic mountain man on the long running series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, from 1993 to 1998. Joe, in 2000, appeared in Higher Ground, in which he was not only the star, but also the executive co-producer for the series. He then costarred with Rob Estes in an original TBS movie called Counterstrike, which premiered on March 2, 2003. He was the star of Killer Flood, seen on Pax TV Friday, April 25, 2003 and the hero and star of Devil Winds, also seen on Pax TV on November 1, 2003. Joe's film Combustion was released on DVD in the US in September of 2004 and aired on the Lifetime Network in 2004 as Silent Killer. Joe guest starred on Summerland, on the WB Network in the summer of 2004 and on Missing in January of 2005, on Lifetime. His next movie, Bloodsuckers sizzled on the Sci-Fi Channel July 30, 2005, just two days before his first of seven appearances on the ABC Family drama Wildfire, where he played Pete Ritter. The Story of Abby Lord was shown on the Lifetime Network as Engaged to Kill on April 24, 2006, in which joe starred as Robert Lord. He filmed another movie for Sci-Fi, called Shock Wave, which aired on the SciFi Channel as A.I. Assault.
Joe married Kirsten Barlow at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, on May 24, 1997, and they have three sons, Jack Neville, born June 3, 1998, Christian Antonio, born July 7, 2001, and William Joseph, born July 20, 2007. They also have a little girl named Kate Elizabeth, born April 3, 2003
2009 and 2010 are proving to be big stepping stones for Joe's career. He appeared in the NCIS 150th episode Jan 12, 2010, and has a recurring role on Melrose Place beginning March 30, 2010. He also has the starring role in the film METEOR APOCOLYPSE, now available on DVD and soon will be shown on the SyFy Channel.
