"Always assume they are watching...."
For nearly-A-list actress Angela McKee, life is lonely, even when she is surrounded. The only person that she has ever trusted was her bodyguard. But this story begins after he was brutally attacked. Not knowing whether he will survive, or whether the attacker is after her as well, she must navigate the terrors and triumphs of fame, money, and power! Studio Exec, Mark Wall, is trying to protect her future with the studio. Her publicist, Caroline Sharp, wants to make things go smoothly in the aftermath, crushing anyone in the way. And her pseudo-boyfriend, Austin Pemberton, demands her as arm- candy. Meanwhile cousin, Betty Jacobs, is waiting in the wings to soak her for money and connections. Her fans want her secrets along with her privacy. And her new bodyguard, Cal Johnson, is gruff, intrusive, and weather-worn from ill habits and rough breaks...But there is something about him, something that makes her realize that maybe... maybe he just wants to protect her from it al...maybe he is the one she can trust? |
